STAND ADDITIONS
Rigging information
You will need rigging if you plan to hang anything above your stand, including overhead banners, signs or suspended branding.
If all signage and branding is freestanding and contained within your stand, rigging is generally not required.
If you are unsure, we recommend reviewing the information below or contacting GCCEC for guidance before finalising your stand design.
Rigging and banner hanging must be carried out by the Centre’s riggers. All rigging top points must be installed and removed by a GCCEC-licensed rigger (charges apply).
All rigging plots must be submitted to GCCEC for venue approval no later than 21 days prior to the event. Exhibitors planning to rig banners or signage are required to complete the GCCEC Banner & Rigging Request Form and submit it directly to GCCEC.
During exhibitor registration, you will be asked whether you require rigging. This information is shared with the venue; however, it remains the exhibitor’s responsibility to complete the GCCEC Banner & Rigging Request Form and liaise directly with GCCEC regarding approvals, specifications and costs. The form can be accessed via the button below.
Food Sampling
Food sampling is a great way to engage retailers at Expo; however, all food preparation, handling and sampling must comply with Queensland food safety regulations and the requirements set by Metcash and GCCEC.
If you intend to prepare, cook, reheat or serve food or beverage samples (including unpackaged samples), you must indicate this during exhibitor registration and obtain Metcash approval prior to the event. Exhibitors sampling food must comply with the QLD Food Act 2006 and the Expo Food Safety requirements outlined in the Exhibitor Information Guide and Food Safety Guide.
Please note:
Exhibitors offering food sampling must ensure:
Appropriate food safety equipment is available on your stand, including:
Portable hand wash stations will be located within close proximity to stands offering unpackaged food sampling, and back-of-house food preparation areas are available for approved use
During exhibitor registration, you will be asked whether you plan to sample food. This information is used for planning purposes; however, it remains the exhibitor’s responsibility to ensure full compliance with all food safety requirements.
Exhibitors who do not meet the required standards may be restricted to displaying pre-packaged products only.
